About Us
Green Built Custom Homes (GBCH) was formed by Brian George and Ray Kavelish for one simple reason...to help protect our environment. Having worked in the construction industry for large national home builders and subcontractors for a combined 30 years of experience, they decided to walk away from the large corporate environment and use their experience to build, renovate and remodel homes to be environmentally friendly ("Green").
GBCH is completely dedicated to delivering the highest quality in craftsmanship and service to their clients. By using current "Green" techniques and technologies, GBCH's processes allow their clients the ability to benefit by purchasing or remodeling a home to be "Green" without the high cost typically associated with such a build.
GBCH understands that "Green" technologies, techniques and environmental issues are constantly changing. Therefore, GBCH stays on top of these changes by continuing their education by attending conferences, seminars and on-line professional courses so they can bring the most current "Green" building information to the client. GBCH is a certified Earth Craft House™ and "Green" Builder and is a member of the Lake Norman and National Home Builders Associations.

For nearly 20 years, Mr. George has been in the home building industry and has worked for some of the nations’ largest builders. Mr. George started as a lumber coordinator and worked his way up to Executive Management. During his career Mr. George has also worked with and for suppliers and subcontractors and has acquired a great amount of overall experience and knowledge of the home building industry. Mr. George is active in the Home Builders Association and most recently joined the Lake Norman Chapter. "Green" building and consultation is a family endeavor as his wife, Kelly, who is a licensed real estate EcoBroker®/Broker/Realtor®, works for Armstrong Robinson Realtors located in Mooresville. Together, they have two beautiful children, Ethan and Grace and enjoy living in Iredell County. |

Brian George grew up in rural northwest Pennsylvania, He went on to earn a degree in Business Management with a minor in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mr. George most recently received his "Certified Green Builder" designation. | RAY KAVELISH |

Ray and his wife, Lisa, enjoy living in Cabarrus county and have a beautiful daughter with whom they enjoy spending their off time with. |

Ray has a degree in Sports Management from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and holds an “unlimited” North Carolina General Contractors License. During his career, Ray has worked for large national builders, subcontractors and suppliers and has gained a great amount of overall experience. Ray is a “hands-on” builder and ensures that GBCH homes are of the finest quality and that the customers are completely satisfied.
